    Suning to Open Four New Unmanned Stores in China

    After rolling out the first self-service store " Suning Sports Biu " in Nanjing in August, Suning launched its second cashier-less store in Shanghai earlier this week. Also, three more stores will be opened soon in Beijing , Chongqing and Xuzhou. With richer product categories, the new stores will not only sell sports products and souvenir items of well-known football clubs, such as FC Internazionale Milano, consumers could also find gadgets, personal electronics, food and FMCG goods to fulfill more unique purchasing demands.

    Singapore's postal service provider SingPost is rolling out 50,000 NFC tags to delivery and collection points across the island and is to equip 1,000 postmen with NFC smartphones to “raise postal service quality and improve operation “Amalgamating NFC, RFID, digital imaging and electronic notifications, SmartPost will equip SingPost's postal staff with new skills and tools to elevate their operational capability and efficiency across the entire postal operation — from collection to sorting, last mile delivery and quality assurance,” SingPost says.

    MSC Cruises passengers to get onboard mobile payments and tailored holidays with NFC, beacons and biometrics

    Holidaymakers aboard ships belonging to MSC Cruises will soon be able to make onboard payments, tailor their individual holiday preferences and access features such as a digital personal advisor through facial recognition technology, NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons, plus a mobile app and interactive cabin TV screens. The MSC for Me service will make its debut on the MSC Meraviglia in June, which will be fitted with “16,000 points of connectivity, 700 digital access points, 358 interactive screens and 2,244 cabins with RFID/NFC access technology,” which will allow guests to use interactive bracelets for entry.
